About Us

Hai Hui Shan (HHS) International Foundation is a vision founded by Master Renshan, a Chinese Buddhist Master who dedicates his life to sharing Buddhist wisdom to help all sentient beings liberate from suffering and obtain peace and happiness.

Master Renshan became a monk at the age of 15, after witnessing a funeral, he started to ponder deeply about the meaning of life and how to transcend all sufferings in life. When encountered the Buddha’s teachings, he felt he had found the answer to the questions that puzzled him. He is the abbot of Zhenning Pure Land Temple in Zhejiang province China, he is also the chairman for Hai Hui Shan Spainish Buddhist community and the honourable chairman for Hai Hui Shan Australia International Foundation (please note that these two entities operate independently and separately).

Master Renshan believes that the essence of Buddhism is NOT really a religion, rather Buddha’s teachings (Dharma) are available for all. Regardless of faith and religion, one can practise the Dharma and the meditation techniques the Buddha teaches.

The name Hai Hui Shan comes from the Chinese words 海会山:

Hai (海) means the sea, the ocean.

Hui (会) means gathering

Shan (山) means the mountain.

It means that all people gather together to do a meaningful thing, i.e. to obtain peace and happiness for all beings, only when individual can obtain peace will there be world peace, as the world is created by all the beings that live here.

Jiawen (Huiwen) Liao
